At The Moment My Camera Happened To Find You

I have spent my entire life observing people. For many photographers, including myself, making photographs of complete strangers is at first, an intimidating and uncomfortable experience. To over come this feeling, many photographers will use long telephoto to get "closer" to a person without letting them know they are being photographed. I forced myself to photograph using a wider angle lens, which required that I actually had to get much closer to the person, both physically and personally, getting permission before releasing the shutter. At times this led to long conversations with many stories and a series of photographs. Other times it was just a moment captured in time by my camera. In either case, I needed to learn something about the person before I felt I could say anything about them through my photographs.
